Eastern University of Sri Lanka Calls for Applications for Director of Information and Communication Technology
Eastern University of Sri Lanka is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Director/Centre for Information and Communication Technology (CICT) [1].
Eligibility
The applicant must be a Senior Lecturer Gr. II or above from Eastern University, Sri Lanka [1].
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following [1]:
- Working towards developing a full-fledged Centre of excellence in the field of IT by establishing a Centre with the approval of the University Grants Commission [1].
- Leading the development of a strategic plan for the advancement of IT and related activities at the Eastern University of Sri Lanka [1].
- Overseeing the implementation of a Management Information System (MIS) and motivating staff to use a Learning Management System (LMS) at the University [1].
- Ensuring the smooth running and maintenance of the existing University wide area network and IT services for staff and students [1].
- Optimizing the use of existing IT resources to support academic programs, research, and related activities [1].
- Promoting IT-related courses [1].
- Keeping IT facilities up-to-date with the latest global trends to equip students and staff with the necessary skills to advance their careers [1].
- Carrying out any other assignments entrusted by the Vice-Chancellor regarding the establishment of the Centre [1].
Remuneration
An allowance of Rs. 4,000/- will be paid to the successful candidate [1].
