Applications are invited for the above course from those employed in the public and the private sectors and others interested in learning English. Applicants should have passed G.C.E. (O/L) with Mathematics, Sinhala/ Tamil language and at least a simple pass in English language or an equivalent qualification acceptable.
Applicants without a simple pass for English language at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination or an equivalent qualification acceptable are required to pass the Selection Test conducted by the University. All candidates will be selected after a Selection / Placement Test and an interview. Candidates who successfully complete the Advanced Certificate in English (Extension) programme are eligible to follow the Diploma in English (Extension) Programme without facing the Selection Test.
