The Department of Examinations has officially announced that applications for the re-scrutiny of results for the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination – 2025 will be accepted starting today, April 6, 2026.
Candidates who wish to have their answer scripts re-evaluated must submit their applications via the official online portals. The application window is scheduled to close on April 22, 2026.
Key Application Details
To ensure a smooth process, applicants should take note of the following requirements:
- Submission Method: Applications must be submitted online through the official Department of Examinations website at doenets.lk (under “Exam Information Centre”) or directly via onlineexams.gov.lk/eic.
- Eligibility: Both school and private candidates are required to submit their own applications.
- Required Documentation: It is mandatory to use the Index Number and National Identity Card (NIC) number used during the 2025 examination.
- Fees: The fee for re-scrutiny is Rs. 250 per subject. Payments can be made using a credit/debit card or in person at any post office.
- Common General Test: Candidates who scored under 30 marks in the Common General Test (Subject No. 12) and did not qualify for university entrance are also eligible to apply for re-scrutiny of that subject.
Important Precautions
The Department emphasizes that the re-scrutiny process involves a full examination of answer scripts by a specialized board. Candidates are cautioned that this process may result in an upward or downward revision of marks or grades.
Applicants are advised to download and save a PDF copy of their application after payment is completed. A confirmation SMS will also be sent to the registered mobile number. Please note that fees are non-refundable, and applications submitted without the correct payment will be rejected.
